The debut of the Phoenix Edge series of ESCs marks the arrival of the next evolution in speed controller technology. With the Edge series, a user programmable auxiliary wire capable of functions that modelers have only dreamt about is now a reality. The white auxiliary wire can be utilized for helicopter governor gain input adjustments mid-flight, serve as an audible beacon after an "unexpected landing," function as an RPM output for 3-axis gyros that support RPM sensors, be used as an ESC arming lock (coupon for a free Arming Lockout Key included), or as a receiver arming lock. Coupled with the data logging capability, the Edge series of controllers offer unrivaled versatility.

The Phoenix Edge series is designed for use in helicopters ranging from 450 to 800 size and fixed wing aircraft up to 1.20 size and larger. The input voltage range for the Phoenix Edge series is MIN 3S LiPo to MAX 8S LiPo. The BEC voltage, which is the voltage regulator for powering radio and servos, is user selectable and can output a choice from 5 to 8.4 volts. The maximum continuous amperage at full throttle is 75 amps.

Additionally, data logging and USB programming and firmware updates can be accomplished with the Castle Link USB Adapter, which is included with a free coupon and can be used with a Windows-based PC.
